About the Foundation
Over 53 years ago, CMH was built by the efforts and generosity of community people. Today that spirit of giving continues with thousands of friends and neighbors supporting their hospital with their financial contributions. Without this support, CMH could not continue to grow and meet the health needs of the community.
Why is philanthropy important?
Each year, CMH reinvests net income back into our facilities to keep the hospital up to date and to provide care to all regardless of their ability to pay. However, as our community health needs grow, general revenues are not sufficient enough to meet these needs.
Donations are crucial to the hospital’s present and future ability to serve the many thousands of patients each year that depend on CMH for health care services.
Who oversees the collection and spending of donated funds?
The Community Memorial Healthcenter Foundation is a nonprofit 501 (c ) 3 organization that was formed to strengthen this charitable support. The CMH Foundation exists to build continuing support for CMH through philanthropy, stewardship, and community education. Its board of directors and staff oversee the fundraising efforts of the hospital to ensure that its important mission is fulfilled.
